Love the site! i have dry, sensitive skin. and dove doesn't cut it any more. a month ago i used a peppermint soap by Burt's Bee's (starter kit)...it was ok...it didn't irritate my skin. now i'm using a honey and shea vegetable based soap by 'le couvght desminimes' at Bath and Body Works it cost $4's. To me thats not bad.it smells good and makes my skin soft. oh, can you send me some natural hair recipes. thanks.
Posted by Butterfly Field at June 3, 2005 08:38 AMHair's looking good as usual Lisa! Question...is this coconut oil that you speak so highly of acutally an oil? Sounds like an ignant ass question, but I've seen some coconut oil stuff that comes in a jar in solid form.
Posted by Erin at June 9, 2005 10:01 AMErin - Tis a valid question...the coconut oil I use is (food grade) fractionated 76 degree...which means below that temperature it turns solid. However, just like shea butter it melts easily. And a little goes a looong way so you have to be especially careful in the summer months.
Posted by Lisa at June 9, 2005 10:18 AMI love your hair! You know banana makes an excellent conditioning treatment for the hair. I posted a recipe here http://veganmomma.com/banana%20hair%20mask.htm
Posted by Vegan Momma at June 9, 2005 04:17 PMYour hair is beautiful! I am also hoping to make the switch to Aubrey Organics soon.
Posted by tifi at June 16, 2005 08:28 PMI love this page, really helpful for myself, who has been natural for awhile, yet doesnt have much experience styling my own hair (before kept in braids, extension twists, or even presses). Question: Do you twist on wet or dry hair?
Most people I read twist on wet hair but lately I have been reading more and more on those who twist with dry hair...my wet twists are mad messy and non uniform, and i dunno if thats just lack of experience or if it would be easier on dry hair, i shall try it soon though...
Peace & Blessings
tell the truth and shame the debil! I've also noticed that there are some sistahs on NP who feed into junkyims; curl defintion and/or hair products. It's so stupid to exchange one vice for another. But alot of folx don't wanna hear that.....
