Nothing special, just wanted to show how the fro is looking these days. This is its unstretched state...no picking in 2005! :D
Maintenance has been lower than low on the naps...I've been too busy to fiddle and not going out too much so I wasn't really worried. I'm going to have to stay on top of conditioning though...this Georgia heat does not play.
I was looking at the hair albums of some 4bs earlier. Maaahvelous! I have a serious thing for ultra kinky hair! If it's healthy that is. I do have standards, shoot.
Ridiculous that some women relieve themselves of the relaxer ostensibly because it's less maintenance, but still end up wasting all manner of time and money on products to get a certain look. I ain't got time for that mess. Besides, I've found that less is soooo much more. I only comb when my hair is wet or already stretched by some other style. Picks became a nono very early on...these coils are not tryin to hear that shit. My most treasured tools are my hands, as they are awesome at fluffing the hell out of my naps!
Current products:
Shea butter
Shealoe
Coconut oil
L'Oreal Vive Conditioner
Elasta QP DPR-11
No gel is needed at this point because I don't do wash and gos and water lays down the front of my hair well enough if I want to wear a puff. When those conditioners are finished, I'll be switching to an all natural brand...more than likely Aubrey Organics, which I've heard good tings about. I just feel that my hair has been responding awesomely to a lack of chemical elements. A lil pic:
Nothing special...just an up close of a twistout that I actually didn't separate this time! :D
(I'm applying that concept to my skin as well...my face is currently in love with an extremely simple regimen of washing with black soap and following with moisturizer...any recommendations on natural products would be appreciated!)
I also plan on switching to henna from here on out if I want to put some color zing in my hair. My hair is soft now and feels good, but that first week or so after I put in a rinse is not cool. It's never dry feeling, but it just doesn't feel...the same, you know? I've just gotten to the point where I'm hyper aware of the texture of my hair. And for me it's not about making it look presentable or curly with tons of product; sensual gals like I like my hair to be SOFT before it's anything else.
My ex was joking last night, tombout some "get a perm." He is so uber brainwashed...maybe some of his girl's perm leavings done got into his brain cells or something. I told him if he touched my hair he would never want to siphon his hands through her lil greasy mass of doohickeys (I hesitate to call it hair) again. He thought I was playing. Sheeeeit...whatever! What I tell y'all...you can't tell me my naps ain't the shit. *pops collah*
*sends out a dose of nappy hair love to all the sistas that need it*
