Your hair looks wonderful!! I'm still learning my natural styles, so tell me is that a twist out?

Your hair looks good. I remember when I first went natural it seemed my hair took forever to get some length, then it just sprouted.

I want to go natural, but I am not looking forward to transitioning from my relaxed hair...any suggestions? I might have about 3.5 inches of new growth. I've been wearing braids with bulk hair, but I'm tired of them and I want to give my scalp a rest...

i found your link on someone else's blog...i like your blog and you showing from then, when you first went natural, to now....i havent had a relaxer in almost 5 years this upcoming july 3rd.....i need to learn to take better care of it though because it has broken out in the middle, and it hasnt grown as long as it did when i went 3 years without a perm some years before this break without a perm, that was because i kept it braided all the time....i see all the hair styles you've done i've tried my self too...i wish i could find a beauty shop that does natural hair though because i get sick of the afro and twist...i might need to go to my grandma to press my hair, with a real hot comb, cuz alot of folks dont know how to press hair these days, anyways, nice blog! :-)

Erin - I basically put my damp or wet hair into medium-sized two-strand twists. I may wear the twists for a few days, or unravel them and separate the strands the next day for a twistout.

a. - Back when my hair was super short this is the length I was pining for. I dunno what the heck I'm going to do when it gets longer.

Christine - Thanks. I certainly do aspire to Angie Stone length...even though I'm suspicious about whether all that hair was hers. So definitely check back for that!

Nicole - I've heard rollersets and braidouts are awesome for working with the two different textures. Check out nappturality.com for some transitioning tips. Or you can do like me, get impatient and just go for the chop!

Toya - Check out nappturality.com...particularly the photo galleries. You will find all types of information to help you improve the health of your hair, as well as sooooo many styles that you probably never even thought of. As for pressing, pleeeaaaaase be careful of that ultra hot comb. It's very much possible for you to permanently damage your naps.
