There are no new ideas, only new ways of making them felt. - Audre Lorde
I had a dream about a lion (of Judah?)...docile as a lamb. Woke up and stumbled upon the story of Jesus and Sophia (Nag Hammadi) and thought what an awesome allegory for what we go through today as men and women. After pondering at length, here's what I believe...
Women (even the ones that won't admit), worship men because in them they see divinity and long to be close to it. Most men have aligned themselves with the illusion of duality and ego-centeredness. So yes they are aware of their effect upon women, but the notion becomes twisted. This discordant untruth creates a sense of "beneath." More enlightened, sensitive men tend to revere women, knowing deep down that this is the way. Yet they don't recognize the divine traits within themselves. Become confused when faced with intense emotion/devotion. They warn you against the falling in deep. "I'm a mess," they say. Refuse the pedestal.
In all actuality men and women are equal. Unfortunately many have bought into the lie - the "battle" of the sexes; one that has been played out throughout the ages. I look to the simplicity of true love, but wonder at the complexities we weave. Will we ever get it right?
Woman identifies deeply with the moon. She senses herself as one reflecting the light of the sun, her man. This ignites the flame within; an explosive urge to do better, to be better, to ascend. Shine her insides outward as she remembers her original nature.
The spiritually balanced, self-aware woman knows she must step out of the independent woman construct. Yes she has often been placed on the solitary path so that she could learn to fend for herself. To gain those masculine aspects of strength and responsibility is essential. But even the most self-sufficient woman yearns for the other...the one. It is not wrong for her to feel that she "needs" her man. Why deny divine programming in the interest of saving face?
Men must ascend beyond machismo and fully experience/surrender to the flow of give and receive. Most now cling to their egos, use them to stonewall their women. Sometimes subvert and dominate the women that love them. Rarely falling and immersing...more dipping a toe in and watching the story unfold from afar.
Why do we not both surrender...dive headfirst into that sea of silk, warmth...light? The need to experience one-ness don't make us weak. Separately we are individual and whole, but together we achieve a different awareness. We should realize that it is not blasphemous to worship one another, we're offspring of divinity after all. And when we match our complementary energies, when we blend, we become more than the sum. So much so that we achieve with ease that sacred love and bliss. The most of Allness that our human shells can withstand. Transformative forces rage and we become power, to be used for betterment - of we and in those in our lives.
To be all earthly about it - when the two become one, shit gets moving! And that's what I call paradise on earth (zion).
Listen, for I have worthy words to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. - Proverbs 8:6 (NIV)
